“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…” Eccl 3:1-15
This week at CHOSEN we learned about the Liturgical Calendar – what it is, why it exists and its rhythm and structure. We learned that the liturgical year, “unfolds the whole mystery of Christ… [His] powers and merits, so that these are in some way made present in every age; the faithful lay hold of them and are filled with saving grace.” CCC1163 We also played charades, volleyball and a game of “Find and Define the Feast” and closed our evening with time for quiet prayer in the Church. Going forward we would like to invite Gr 5 and 6 students to join us – which means CHOSEN is now open to students from Gr 5 to 8! CHOSEN meetings take place on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30pm at St Mary’s School.
“Dear friends, truth is not an imposition. Nor is it simply a set of rules. It is a discovery of the One who never fails us; the One whom we can always trust. In seeking truth we come to live by belief because ultimately truth is a person: Jesus Christ.” Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
Our next Veritas meeting will take place on Friday Feb 15th from 7-9pm at St Mary’s School. High school and college students are invited to join us as we share pizza, play games and discuss topics relevant to young adults about living the truth of the Catholic faith in today’s society.
