“It is not to remain in a golden ciborium that He comes to us each day from heaven. It’s to find another heaven infinitely more dear to Him than the first: the heaven of our soul, made to His image, the living temple of the adorable Trinity.” St. Thérèse of Lisieux
This week at Chosen, we reflected on the things that hold a place in our heart, and whether these things are leading us closer to or further away from Jesus. We also discussed how Our Lord seeks us out and comes to meet us with His great gifts of mercy and forgiveness and peace in the Sacrament of Confession and how we can best prepare to meet Him, with reverence and awe and wonder, as He is fully present to us when we receive Him into our heart in Holy Communion. We also had fun making a “Walk of Faith”, blindfolded through an obstacle course, and even more fun in a spontaneous snowball fight (yes snowballs in April!) as we returned from our prayer time in the Church! And we continued to celebrate the great season of Easter with chocolate cupcakes! Grade 7 and 8 students, please join us for our next meeting Tuesday, April 24 th 7-9pm, St Mary’s School. New members are always welcome!
Our bus trip to Ottawa to attend the National March for Life is fast approaching. It will take place on May 11th and 12th. A big THANK YOU to everyone in the parish who supported us with a financial donation to cover the cost of our trip. For those who still wish to do so, high school youth members will be available at this weekend’s Masses to receive your kind donations and answer any questions you may have. Please pray for us as we make this important journey to our nation’s capital to join with thousands of other Canadians in defending the sacredness of life from the moment of conception to natural death. Youth interested in attending March for Life, please contact Teresa Mulligan via email at youth @ stmaryslindsay.ca
