“The first thing about the angels that we ought to imitate is their consciousness of the Presence of God. Ah! If we had the eyes of angels with which to see our Lord Jesus Christ present on the Altar and looking at us, how we should love Him!” – St. John Vianney
This week at Chosen we learned about God’s creation of spiritual realities. As we say in the Nicene Creed, He is the “maker of… all things visible and invisible”. We spoke about heaven, where the angels and saints dwell in full communion with God in eternal happiness and fulfillment (CCC 326-327). We also learned about God’s angels – both the good angels and the fallen angels and in particular we used Scripture to study how the three Archangels – St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael – played an important role to bring about God’s plan in history. Finally, we thanked God for the gift of our very own Guardian Angel as we learned that, “beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life.” (CCC 336)
We also had a lot of fun drawing, playing games and enjoying homemade cookies! Gr7/8 students are welcome to join at any time. Weekly meetings take place on Tuesdays from 7-9pm at St. Mary’s School.
