Faith – Bite Sized

The Catholic Church teaches that the Epiphany is the manifestation of Jesus as the Messiah of Israel, the Son of God, and the Savior of the world. The feast of the Epiphany celebrates three events that reveal the identity and mission of Jesus: the visit of the Magi from the East, the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan, and the wedding feast at Cana. The Epiphany shows that Jesus came for all nations and peoples, not only for the Jews. The Epiphany also invites us to recognize and worship Jesus as our Lord and King, and to follow His light and guidance in our lives.

Finding the Divine Infant, Who stretched out his hands for our gifts, we offer Him the pure gold of a heart detached from all earthly goods; the myrrh of renunciation of the worldy pleasures in exchange for participation in the life and suffering of Jesus; the frankincense of a will that surrenders itself and strains upward to the divine will. In return for these gifts, the Divine Child gave us Himself.
