Pastor’s Corner

Dear Parishioners,

Our Bishop, His Excellency Rev Daniel Miehm, has appointed me as your new pastor, to guide you on your journey, by God’s grace, toward our heavenly home to live with the Holy Trinity, the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the Angels and Saints for all eternity.

Fr. Dominic ClovisI will now introduce myself. My name is Fr. Dominic Clovis. I was born on the 1st September 1989 in the city of London, UK. At the age of 19 God called me to follow Him in religious life and so I joined the religious family of the Incarnate Word, joining the seminary in Italy, 2009. Having completed my seminary studies, 1 year of noviciate, 3 years of philosophy and 4 years of theology, I was ordained a priest in the year 2017. I was then sent to Scotland, to the kingdom of Fife, to serve at 4 churches as a curate for 2 years. I was then sent to Canada to serve at Toronto as an associate pastor (a Canadian name for curate I guess) in the church of St. Augustine of Canterbury Parish for 3 years.

Now, at the bidding of my Superiors, I have now come to serve you, for however long God wills. As you can see I am a new priest so I ask that you have patience with me.
I look forward to serving you and hope that we may all follow closely Our Lord in faith, hope and charity. As Christ has told us, “no one comes to the Father except through me” and as St. Paul has reminded us, “for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” let us stay close to Our Redeemer and seek always His mercy.
