It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the death of Bishop Emeritus Nicola De Angelis. Bishop De Angelis is much loved. Please keep him in your prayers. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
A Statement from Most Reverend Bishop Miehm has been issued and is available through the web link noted below. The funeral for Bishop Emeritus Nicola De Angelis, C.F.I.C., will take place tomorrow (Saturday, June 17th, 2023) at 10:00 a.m. (4 a.m. ONT time) in Montefiascone, Italy. The burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in his village, Pozzaglia Sabina (Rieti), Italy. Plans for a Memorial Mass at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains and prayers are being developed and details will be communicated as soon as they are confirmed.
