In 1997, Saint John Paul II instituted a day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is held annually on the February 2nd Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.
The Mass for the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains on February 2 at 7 p.m. followed by a reception in the Knights of Columbus Bishop Doyle Hall. His Excellency Most Rev. Bishop Miehm will preside at the Mass.
Please pray for all those who have made commitments in the consecrated life, come to the Mass at the Cathedral, and be sure to thank them on their special day. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God’s gift of their vocation.
