On 8 April 2014, Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Bishop De Angelis and appointed the Most Reverend William Terrance McGrattan formerly an auxillary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Toronto as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Peterborough in accordance with Canon 401-1.
Until the new Bishop takes canonical possession of the Diocese, Bishop De Angelis will remain as Apostolic Administrator.
Bishop McGratton will be installed as the new Bishop of our Diocese at a date to be announced.
