It is with reluctance and some sadness that we announce the formal retirement of our beloved Organist and Choirmaster Heribert Michel, KSS.
After more than 60 years of unmatched contribution to the Sacred Music scene here in Peterborough, first at Sacred Heart Parish and for the last 30 plus years here at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains,” Herbie” has decided to “call it a day”, effective August 31, 2012. On behalf of all parishioners and his countless friends we thank him for his truly inspirational organ music and tireless work in making the Cathedral choir second to none in the Diocese. We extend our sincere best wishes to Herbie and his wife Suzanne for good health, good luck and much happiness as they enter into their richly deserved retirement period.

Applicants should be familiar with all aspects related to professionally playing a pipe organ, should be well versed in the liturgical music played in the Roman Catholic Church and have some experience in leading and further development of a full SATB choir.
The applicant should be available to assume responsibilities on or before September 01, 2012.
