As members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Lindsay, we work to express our love for God by providing emergency help for people in need. We do this in response to the words of Jesus: (Matthew 25:31-40) “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me in your home. I was naked, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you came to visit me…. Whenever you did this for one of my brothers and sisters, you did it for me.”
We also wish to offer spiritual encouragement whenever appropriate. We encourage clients to speak with a member of the local clergy about their spiritual health and growth.
We encourage them and their family to return to their church, if they are not already practicing, or to become involved in ours or one of the churches in our area.
We encourage them to bring their children to church or Sunday school.
