Faith – Bite Sized

“Fasting cleanses the soul, raises the mind, subjects one’s flesh to the spirit, renders the heart contrite and humble, scatters the clouds of concupiscence, quenches the fire of lust, and kindles the true light of chastity. Enter again into yourself.” St. Augustine of Hippo

Deuteronomy 11:26-28; Behold, I am setting forth in your sight today a blessing and a curse. It will be a blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am instructing to you this day. It will be a curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but instead you withdraw from the way, which I am revealing to you now, and you walk after foreign gods that you have not known.

This passage reminds us of the importance of our choices and the consequences that follow. It invites us to reflect on our actions, knowing that God’s guidance leads to abundant life and blessings. Let us trust in the Lord’s wisdom and follow His commandments faithfully, for in doing so, we walk the path towards eternal life in His love and grace.
