Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Diocese of Peterborough,
On behalf of the retired priests of the Diocese of Peterborough, I thank you for your ongoing generosity to our Priest Benefit Fund. This fund is the principal way that we care for priests who have retired from pastoral assignment either because of age or health concerns. Our senior priests served with dedication for many years and often still substitute in parishes when their health permits. They remain an important part of our Catholic community and your concern for them reflects both this fact and your appreciation for their priestly service.
Our Annual Parish Appeal for the Priest Benefit Fund will take place on Sunday, June 12th, and additionally, donations are accepted at parishes or online (www.peterboroughdiocese.org) any time of the year. Knowing that these are financially challenging times for many people, we are grateful for any contribution you can make to this appeal, which is so important to the life of the Church in the Diocese of Peterborough. On behalf of all our priests – retired, planning for retirement, or still years away from it – I offer you our sincere thanks and our prayers. Yours in Christ,
†Most Reverend Daniel J. Miehm Bishop of Peterborough
