I want to congratulate again the young people who received first communion this last weekend. It was great to see the children all excited to receive their first communion, their parents, other family, and friends joining them to fill up the Church. I hope and pray they take this as an occasion to come regularly to Sunday Mass so the children can receive this great gift of the Body of Jesus every Sunday.
I want to thank those who helped prepare the children for both first communion and confirmation during the academic year especially Joseph DeVuono, Tino and Michelle Minielli, Teresa Mulligan, Peter Ahn Vu, Gloria Broad, the Catholic Women’s League, the Legion of Mary and the principals and staff at St. Mary’s school, St. John Paul II, and St. Dominic’s. A blessing also on you parents who brought them to receive this great gift of the Eucharist and Confirmation and are the first teachers of the Catholic faith.
