A Place Called Home

Dear Friends:

For more than a quarter of a century, the faith community has been there for A Place Called Home. You were there at our founding. When we needed help renovating our shelter space, you were there.

You have been there when we needed food to serve our residents. And when we have needed financial support, you have been there.

Faithfulness is at the heart of Christian witness and we are deeply grateful for the faithfulness that you have shown to the mission of A Place called Home.

Because you have been there for us, we have been able to serve the most vulnerable in our community, providing temporary housing for young people, adults, couples and families, together with a host of other homeless prevention services.

We would like to share with you a short video developed by Pastor Mike Kleinhuis, from The Centre Community Church in Lindsay, about the exciting project to rebuild our shelter. In the video, Pastor Mike calls the Christian community to Pray for our work amongst the homeless, to Promote our new project in the community, and to Support through your generous giving.

This rebuild is a 5 million dollar project that has received substantial support from all levels of government. But we still need to raise 1.5 million to see this rebuild through.

Will you share this video with your community during a worship service and/or online services and through your email bulletins?

Would you keep our agency in your prayers? Will you consider financially supporting this project through offerings and perhaps including A Place Called Home in your outreach budget?
“Faith, hope and love abide,” wrote St. Paul. “And the greatest of these is love.”

Love for the most vulnerable requires the kind of faithfulness that you have demonstrated over the years. And that has provided hope for our homeless neighbours.

In that hope,
Brian Walsh – APCH Director
(Retired Campus Pastor)
Mike Kleinhuis, APCH Director
(Pastor, Centre Community Church)
Karen Round – APCH President
Zita Devan – APCH Honorary Director
