“I am the LORD, your God, teaching you how to prevail, leading you on the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17
This week at Chosen we learned about the Liturgical Season of Ordinary Time. We learned that Ordinary Time takes place during the two stretches of time between the Baptism of the Lord until Ash Wednesday and Pentecost until Advent. We learned that the colour green, which we see in the vestments worn by the Priest, is a sign of life, hope and growth and during this time we should commit to spiritual practices that will help us grow closer to Christ. We can commit to more frequent prayer and use of the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confession to deepen and strengthen our relationship with the Lord.
We also had fun playing basketball, building tall free-standing structures out of “ordinary” items, enjoyed chocolate compliments of Father Bill and spent time in quiet prayer in the Church.
Students from Gr 5 to 8 are invited to join us Tuesdays from 7-8:30pm at St Mary’s School.
