Youth News Week 43 – 2018

“God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good; I shall do His work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it if I do but keep His commandments. Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about…”

Blessed John Cardinal Newman

This week at Chosen we learned about God the Father. We talked about how when we meet someone for the first time we usually share our name with each other and this begins our relationship – we know that person and they know us. We learned that this is what happened when God spoke to Moses. He revealed Himself as the One who IS – “I AM WHO AM”. He has no beginning and no end. He is the fullness of TRUTH – He cannot deceive and always keeps His promises. He is also the fullness of LOVE – He loves us more than we could ever imagine and takes care of our every need. God the Father is ALMIGHTY – His authority is over everything and nothing is impossible for Him! Finally, we learned that God wants a RELATIONSHIP with each one of us – He created each of us for a specific purpose and gave us the great gift of each other! And, in the knowledge of all of this, we had a great time playing games and enjoying the gift of FRIENDSHIP! Gr7/8 students are welcome to join at any time. Weekly meetings take place on Tuesdays from 7-9pm at St Mary’s School. Bring your friends and join us!

Due to the scheduled PA Day this coming Friday for our schools, we will be holding our next Ora et Labora meeting this Thursday Oct 25h. This meeting will be a social night – held at the Strikepoint Bowling Alley in Lindsay from 7-9pm. High school students, please join us for an evening of fun and friendly competition. New members are always welcome!
