Youth News Week 39 – 2018

“It is difficult to become a saint. Difficult but not impossible. The road to perfection is long, as long as one’s lifetime. Along the way, consolation becomes rest; but as soon as your strength is restored, you must diligently get up and resume the trip.” St. Padre Pio

On Sep 18th a group of 15 pilgrims travelled to Toronto for Holy Mass and veneration of St Padre Pio’s relics. Thanks to all who joined us for this wonderful evening filled with new learning about this mystical and gifted Saint, God’s grace in the Sacrament of Confession and Holy Communion, prayer and the joy of fun and friendship! You can see pictures on our Facebook page.
“Relics (from the Latin relictum = remains) are remnants of the bodies of saints or else objects that the saints used during their lifetime. The veneration of relics is a natural human need, a way of showing respect and reverence to the persons who are venerated. Relics of saints are properly venerated when the faithful praise God’s work in people who have devoted themselves completely to God.” YOUCAT
