“O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine…” This week at Chosen we learned about this Most Holy Sacrament that the Catechism confirms for us is “the source and summit of Christian life”, and about a courageous young Saint – Saint Tarcisius, who suffered a violent death at the hands of a mob while protecting the Blessed Sacrament he was carrying to those in prison. We learned that this young boy’s courage and devotion are an example for all of us to reflect on, as we come before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and receive Him into our hearts in Holy Communion. The Lord may not ask us to die a physical death for Him but we should try to die to our distractions as we turn our loving thoughts to Him graciously present to us in Holy Communion. We also enjoyed some homemade squares and the glorious weather with time for play outside! Grade 7 and 8 students, please join us next Tuesday, May 22nd 7-9pm, St Mary’s School. New members are always welcome!
God willing, this coming Friday May 25th, the Church, our diocese, and in a special way (given his first assignment will be here in Lindsay) our parish, will have the great joy of welcoming a new priest! Parish youth are invited to join us as we travel to Peterborough for Deacon Stephen DeCarlo’s Ordination Mass – Friday May 25th at 7pm at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains. Youth who would like to join us for this beautiful evening of prayer and joyful celebration in thanksgiving to Almighty God for another shepherd to serve Him, His Church and His faithful people, are asked to contact Teresa Mulligan at the parish office at 705 324 4828 or by email at youth@stmaryslindsay.ca.
