Youth News Week 7 – 2018

“Our freedom consists not in doing what we want, but in doing what we ought.” St. John Paul II

This week at Chosen we learned the importance of making good decisions because the decisions we make each and every day affect not only the outcome of our lives but will ultimately determine our eternal destiny. We discussed how, when we use our freedom to choose the good, we actually become more free – giving us life – because we were created for good. In choosing the good we are becoming who God created us to be!

We also had fun playing games, enjoying a treat or two and, most importantly, we spent time in prayer reflecting on the Beatitudes and asking Almighty God to help us to be good! Grade 7 and 8 students, please join us this week as we learn about the tools God gives us to build us up to live lives of virtue. New members are always welcome!
Tuesday February 6th 7-9pm, St Mary’s School.

“Mary is so full of love that no one who asks for her intercession is rejected…” St. Louis de Montfort

Thanks to all those who attended the retreat on Our Lady. As Queen of Heaven may she obtain many blessings for each of you! In the words of St. Louis de Montfort, “True devotion to the Blessed Virgin leads us to avoid sin and to imitate her, especially in her principal virtues: her profound humility; her lively faith; her unquestioning obedience; her unceasing prayer; her all-embracing mortification; her incomparable purity; her ardent charity; her heroic patience; her angelic sweetness; and her divine wisdom.”

High school students, please join us for our next meeting Friday February 9th 7pm St Mary’s School.
