The crisis in Myanmar has resulted in the influx of an additional 816,000 Rohingya refugees into Bangladesh since August, the majority being women and children. This has triggered a humanitarian emergency on such a scale that concerted international action is urgently required.
In order to address this situation, Canada launched the Myanmar Crisis Relief Fund on October 31, 2017. For every eligible donation made by individuals to registered Canadian charities before November 28 the Government of Canada will contribute an equivalent amount to the Myanmar Crisis Relief Fund.
