Community Care

October is “Community Health & Care Month” in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

The Community Care Health & Care Network is highlighting its many support services and programs designed to help older adults and adults with special needs lead more active, socially engaged, independent lives, and give caregivers much-needed respite and support.

Community Care’s scope of Community Support Services includes: Adult Day programs, Caregiver Support, In-Home Respite, Transportation, Meals on Wheels, Community Dining, Home Help & Maintenance, Community Income Tax Programs, Assisted Living Services for High Risk Seniors, Supportive Housing, Lifeline Emergency Response systems, volunteer visiting and Hospital-to-Home services. From close to 25 service locations across the City and from 4 staffed offices in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls, Community Support Services provide care and support to close to 5,000 local residents each year.
