March for Life 2010 in Ottawa May 13th! Join us at the largest prolife demonstration in Canada to support those who need our help most!
The March for Life is coming up fast on May 13th. I went to the March for life last year and it was amazing! There was about 12 thousand people with many amazing speakers and live music in front of the parliament buildings! This is a great way to show our support for the prolife movement and for those who need our help most in society, and it’s a lot of fun too! We will be travelling by bus (Coach Canada) with the youth office in Peterborough (VEYO). Here’s the itinerary:
DATE: Thursday May 13, 2010
COST: $20 per person
TRANSPORTATION: We have rented an Activity Bus from Coach Canada that has a washroom and comfortable seating.
WHAT TO BRING: We are asking everyone to pack their own lunch, bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a small amount of money for supper on the way home. Also please ask participants to please bring a coat regardless of the weather forecast as they can always leave it in the bus if they do not need it once we get there. (I understand that last year the weather changed and became quite cold and wet and there were some youth really under prepared.)
ITINERARY:
6 am – We will be leaving the VEYO Centre (208 Romaine St. Peterborough) at 6 am sharp. (Feel free to leave vehicles in the parking lot)
10 am – Pro-life Mass, Notre Dame Cathedral, Sussex Drive or Prolife Mass, St. Patrick Basilica, 220 Kent Street (TBA)
12 noon – Gather on Parliament Hill
1:30 pm – March through downtown Ottawa
2:45 pm – Silent No More Awareness Campaign, Parliament Hill
4 pm – Closing Prayer Service by Eastern Catholic Chaplaincy of Ottawa, Parliament Hill
– return to bus
4:30 – 5 pm – The bus will stop in Kanata for a quick supper (fast food)
9 pm – Estimated time of arrival at VEYO Centre
Fr. Luis Lapind has allowed Seminarian Nic to join us. Please feel free to invite any parish priest or religious to join us as well. Let me know if you are interested in coming, so that I can reserve a seat on the bus for you. Payments can be made the day of the trip to me or in advance at St. Mary’s Church Office (40 Russell St. E). Car pooling can be arranged from Lindsay to VEYO in Peterborough and back on May 13th and cars can be left at the VEYO Centre parking lot (208 Romaine St. Peterborough).
God bless everyone and I hope to see you at the March for Life 2010!
