We will begin with the 5 pm parish mass, followed by supper in the hall.

The night will consist of Adoration, witness talks, reflections, videos presentations and photos.

We will conclude with benediction and join the 9 am parish mass.

St. Mary’s World Youth Day Pilgrims are collecting beer, wine, and liquor bottles again to help offset the cost of attending the next World Youth Day to see the Pope in Madrid, Spain in 2011.  Rebel’s for Christ Youth will be going door-to-door collection bottles Sunday May 16th from 12-3pm.  Parishioners are also encouraged to drop  their bottles off on the porch of the rectory anytime.  All of the bottles will be returned for a refund at the local beer store and the funds raised will be set aside for St. Mary’s WYD pilgrims who participated in the bottle collection and are attending WYD.

This Sunday March 21 after the 9 am and 11am masses there will be a Pancake and Sausage Brunch Fundraiser. Funds raised will help Send World Youth Day Pilgrims from St. Mary’s Church to Madrid (Spain) to See the Pope in 2011. The Cost of the Brunch is $5/adult and $2 for children 9 and under! Half of the money earned by Tip Top Car Care on Saturday March 6 and Saturday March 20 will be donated to RFC World Youth Day Pilgrims who wish to attend the next WYD in Madrid Spain 2011.  WYD pilgrims will be volunteering at Tip Top’s to help clean cars on Sat. from 2:30pm-6pm.  Special thanks to the owner of Tip Top Car Care Aaron Reilly who is making this generous donation.  Tip Top Car Care is located at 88 Lindsay St. South Lindsay (across from the Taco Bell) 705 328-2200 and specializes in interior car cleaning.  This is a great way to donate to send youth to see the pope.  Your car will look great and you will feel great!

On March 16th, St. Mary’s Parish will be hosting a trip to St. Ignace II which is the site where Saints Brebeuf and Lalemant were martyred a few kilometers from Martyrs’ Shrine in Midland, Ontario on March 16, 1649!  We will be meeting other pilgrims there including staff and students from Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy in Barry’s Bay, Ontario.  Transportation, itinerary, and other details are still being finalized by St. Mary’s, but please call the office (705 324-4828) to sign up and reserve a spot for this amazing opportunity to visit such a holy and historic site where miracles are thought to have taken place!   

Jean de Brebeuf, born in Normandy, March 25, 1593. He mastered the Indian language and worked through all the district of Huronia. He founded Mission-outposts, converted thousands to the faith. Massive in body, strong yet gentle in character. He made a vow signed in his blood, never to refuse the offer of Martyrdom if asked to die for Christ. His visions of his future Martyrdom were fulfilled when captured March 16, 1649 and tortured for hours. He was martyred at the age of 56. Brebeuf is said to have the heart of a giant. He was known as the apostle of the Hurons. The Indians called him Echon.

Gabriel Lalemant, born in Paris, October 10, 1610. His ambition was to labor in the Missions and he asked to be sent to the Canadian Missions. In 1646, his repeated request to be sent to New France was granted. In Canada, he arrived in Huronia in September 1648 where in words of Scriptures, he was destined to complete a long time in a short space. He was sent to assist Brebeuf with whom he was captured and tortured for seventeen hours at the stake. Gabriel Lalemant died on March 17, 1649, at the age of 39.

           On Sunday January 17th  after the 9 am and 11am masses there will be a Pancake and Sausage Brunch Fundraiser.  Funds raised will help Send World Youth Day Pilgrims from St. Mary’s Church to Madrid (Spain) to See the Pope in 2011.  The Cost of the Brunch is $5/adult and kids are free!  There will be pancakes, sausages, eggs, ham, coffee, tea, muffins, and more in St. Mary’s School Auditorium, just next door to the St. Mary’s Church!  Last time the brunch was so popular that we ran out of sausage, so this time we are buying double the number of sausage!

On Sunday November 15th, St. Mary’s Youth will be having a World Youth Day Fundraising Sausage and Pancake Brunch after the 9 and 11am masses. All of the proceeds will go towards our goal to raise $30 000 which will cover approximately half of the cost to send 20 pilgrims to see the Pope at World Youth Day 2011 Madrid Spain. We still need volunteers to help in the kitchen, to sell tickets, and to serve tables.
