St. Mary’s Restoration Committee is in the process of finding out the cost to replace the bricks on the church.

A committee has been formed to raise money for this project.

Donation forms are in the bulletin if you would like to donate.

For information please contact John O’Reilly at 324-6491 or Deeno Pearsell at 320-8813 or the Parish Office at 324-4828.

You will receive a Charitable Income Tax Return.

We have a souvenir wooden brick if you would like one that states that you are a DONOR.

Any amount is acceptable to donate; no one is excluded.

To Garry’s Garden Center for the beautiful poinsettias donated to the Church for Christmas and parishioners who donated money towards the flowers.

Thank you to all the parishioners who helped decorate, clean the church, the choirs, lectors, Eucharist ministers, K of C, ushers, servers, youth group, and anyone we may have missed.

Sunday May 16 2010 – A disastrous flood or earthquake strikes a nation at the other end of the world. Immediately, many countries rush in food, medicine, blankets, money, and trained people.
Prominent among such aid is the financial help offered by the Holy Father to people in need. In the name of Catholics everywhere, he displays Christ’s love and compassion for those who suffer.
Canada has been consistent in giving such funds to the Holy See, enabling the Pope to be even more generous in times of disaster.
Each year at this time, Canadian Catholics are asked to give generously to this papal collection, which is passed on to the Holy Father for his use among those stricken by natural disasters.
Those who are generous in their response to Christ’s appeal for his needy brothers and sisters will someday hear his words.

How can I support the restoration
of St. Mary’s Church?
An easy way is to buy the Support Cards.

Here is an easy and consistent way to support the Restoration Campaign for our historic Church. Purchase your Support Cards for various amounts from the rectory office or at St. Mary’s Church.

Each week at the church will be a table to sell the Support Cards. These Support Cards can be used at local businesses such as Value-Mart, Loblaws, National Groceries, LaMantia, Food Basic, Canadian Tire, Tim Hortons, Home Hardware, M&M Meats, Boston Pizza. Six percent of all the money you spend at these participating stores while using the Support Cards comes back to St. Mary’s Parish for the Restoration fund. That’s it! Everybody has to buy groceries and other house things, or gas so this is an easy way to give a very needed boost to our ongoing restoration campaign. You get the cards; use them like cash at your favourite stores and the percentage works for the Church.

Support Cards sold to-date total $37,367.00. We have received around $1,868.00 profit which continues to increase your contribution towards the restoration fund. So please keep buying your support cards while they continue to be sold at the church rear door after each Mass.

The fundraising Campaign will be buying prepaid cards for various amounts at local businesses such as all the local grocery stores, Canadian Tire even – yes- Tim Hortons – and you can buy them here at the church.

Six percent of all the money spent comes back for the Restoration fund. That’s it!

Everybody has to buy groceries and other house stuff and this is an easy way to give a very needed boost to our ongoing campaign.

You get the cards; use them like cash at your favourite stores and the percentage works for the Church.

We’ll have the co-ordinators at the doors to run this initiative. We hope to kick off in a few weeks.

Need your Car interior cleaned? World Youth Day Fundraiser: Tip Top Car Care Donating Half of Earning Sat. March 6 & 20!

Half of the money earned by Tip Top Car Care on Saturday March 6 and Saturday March 20 will be donated to RFC World Youth Day Pilgrims who wish to attend the next WYD in Madrid Spain 2011. WYD pilgrims will be volunteering at Tip Top’s to help clean cars on Sat. from 2:30pm-6pm. Special thanks to the owner of Tip Top Car Care Aaron Reilly who is making this generous donation. Tip Top Car Care is located at 88 Lindsay St. South Lindsay (across from the Taco Bell) 705 328-2200 and specializes in interior car cleaning. This is a great way to donate to send youth to see the pope. Your car will look great and you will feel great!

Development & Peace – Postage Stamps

Please save used postage stamps to help generate revenue for D&P.

Place stamps in this box marked ‘Stamps’ at the main church entrance, to send to D&P office in Montreal.

Volunteers sort the stamps & then place them in auctions. Last March $7,268.00 was earned.

This money goes to help our partners in the south who are very much in need of assistance especially with the economic slowdown.
