Pastoral Appointments and Changes – Bishop McGrattan announces the following pastoral appointments and changes which will be effective July 2, 2015 unless otherwise noted. Additional appointments and changes will be announced as they become available.

Newly Ordained

• Reverend Eric Mason newly ordained is appointed Associate Pastor of Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Lindsay.

New Priests arriving to the Diocese

• Reverend Alarey Abella, C. PP. S is appointed Associate Pastor of Saint Alphonsus’ Parish, Peterborough and to part-time Hospital Chaplaincy at the Peterborough General Hospital.
• Reverend Paul Hogan incardinated in the Diocese of Peterborough requested and has been granted a return to active pastoral ministry beginning in December 1, 2015.
• Reverend Dominic Mubah currently at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chain’s, Peterborough is appointed Administrator of Saint Patrick’s Parish, Keamey.

• Reverend John Albao currently Pastor of Saint Patrick’s Parish, Kearney is appointed Pastor of Saint Paul’s Parish, Norwood.
• Reverend Anthony Barol currently Pastor of Saint Alphonsus’ Parish, Wooler, Holy Angels, Brighton and St. Jerome’s Mission Warkworth is appointed Pastor of Saint Joseph’s, Powassan.
• Reverend Andrew Broda currently Pastor of Saint Paul the Apostle Parish, Lakefield is appointed Pastor of Saint Luke’s Parish, Downeyville.
• Reverend Craig Cruikshank is appointed Administrator of Saint Thomas More Parish, Milibrook with responsibility for part-time ministry while in residence at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chain’s, Peterborough in addition to continuing as the Director of the Office of Youth (VEYO).
• Reverend Joseph Devereaux currently Pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Keene is appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Hastings.
• Reverend Randy Foster currently Pastor of Saint Thomas More Parish, Millbrook is appointed Pastor of Saint Anne’s Parish, Peterborough.
• Reverend Msgr. Michael Heffernan currently Pastor of Saint Luke’s Parish, Downeyville is appointed Pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Keene.
• Reverend Gerard McMahon currently Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Huntsville is appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Port Hope.
• Reverend Placid Obiji SMMM currently Pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Hastings is appointed Pastor of Saint Patrick’s Parish, Kinmount.
• Reverend Asisclo Podelino currently Pastor of Saint Joseph’s Bracebridge is appointed Pastor of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Newcastle.
• Reverend John Rathinasway currently Pastor of Saint James the Great Parish, MacTier is appointed Pastor St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Huntsville.
• Reverend Christopher Reynolds currently Pastor of Saint Paul’s Parish, Norwood is appointed Pastor of Saint Alphonsus’, Wooler, Holy Angels, Brighton and St. Jerome’s Mission Warkworth.
• Reverend Raymond Rick currently Pastor of Saint Joseph’s Douro is appointed Pastor of Saint Joseph’s Parish, Bracebridge.
• Reverend Sanyatson Seshaiah currently Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Port Hope is appointed Pastor of Saint Joseph’s Parish, Douro.
• Reverend Peter Selvaraj currently Pastor of Saint Patrick’s Parish, Kinmount is appointed Pastor of Saint Paul the Apostle Parish, Lakefield.
• Reverend Peter Seabrooke currently Pastor of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Newcastle has been appointed Chancellor of Temporal Affairs, Chancery Office, Peterborough and will reside at Immaculate Conception Parish, Peterborough_ He is also appointed to the role of Chaplain for Mount St. Joseph as of September 10, 2015.
• Reverend Roy Villas currently at Saint Alphonsus’ Parish, Peterborough is appointed Associate Pastor of Saint Joseph’s Parish, Bracebridge.
• Reverend Stan Witczak Associate Pastor of Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Lindsay, is appointed Associate Pastor of Saint Anne’s Parish, Peterborough and serving the Polish community at Immaculate Conception Parish, Peterborough.
• Reverend John Purdue is appointed Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Peterborough, in addition to his responsibilities as Associate Pastor at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chain’s
• Reverend Ante Market incardinated in the Diocese of Peterborough is appointed to the Archdiocese of Toronto for completion of his studies in Canon Law and then on pastoral loan to the Archdiocese for a minimum of 12 years.

Other

• Reverend Leo Coughlin will be stepping down from the role of Chaplain for Mount St. Joseph as of September 10, 2015.
• Reverend Damian Smullen requested and has been granted a health leave from active pastoral ministry for an indefinite period of time.

Departing from the Diocese

• Fr. Alban Obani, SMMM associate at St. Alphonsus, Peterborough has been reassigned by the Congregation “Sons of Mary Mother of Mercy”.
• Fr. Adolphus Chukwuka, priest of Awka Diocese, Anambra State, Nigeria has completed his fidei donum priest mission to Canada and will be reassigned by his Bishop.

Permanent Deaconate Placements for 2015

• Rev. Mr. Bill Radigan is appointed to the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chain’s, Peterborough.
• Rev. Mr. Jan Sirek is appointed to St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Huntsville.

Seminarian Pastoral Year Placements for 2015

• Mr. Steven Di Carlo has been assigned to Saint Joseph’s Parish, Bowmanville under the supervision of Reverend Paul Massel, effective June 1, 2015 until August 30, 2016.
