Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (c. 1181 to 1226)
Lord,
make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
0 divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying
that we are born to eternal life.
A Prayer for Our Family
Loving God,
look on our family with mercy,
and guide us in our ways.
help us in our times of need,
keep us true to your commandments,
and help us to love one another as you continue to love us.
Be with us always,
and listen to our prayers
for your mercy and help.
Loving God, we ask this prayer in your holy name.
Amen!
