Development & Peace Milestone
D & P raised 1.8 million dollars to aid the more than one million people left homeless by the cyclone that hit Myanmar (Burma) on May 2, 2008.
The Canadian government agency CIDA matched 1.66 million of this amount. As well $400,000.00 was raised for China & CIDA matched $380,000.00.
Development & Peace will forward the monies to Caritas Internationalis which is providing food, medical assistance, water purification equipment and temporary shelter to more than 60,000 people in Myanmar.
