Saint Philip

SAINT PHILIP

Saint Philip was born in Bethsaida, Galilee and may have been a disciple of John the Baptist. He was called by Jesus himself and brought Nathaniel to Christ.

Saint Philip was present at the miracle of the loaves and fishes and was the one tested by Jesus on how to feed the crowd. Therefore, his symbols are fish and loaves of bread

He is not mentioned very often in the Gospels.

Tradition has it that Philip was crucified in Greece.

Saint Philip’s Feast Day is celebrated on May 3
