The meeting will be followed by a “Pot-Luck” lunch, and all members and spouses are invited.

The Chief’s Charity Pasta Feast

Thursday, January 28, from noon to 2 pm at Victoria Park Armoury.

Tickets adults $12; children under 12 $6.

Please support the Kawartha Lakes Food Source. Buy tickets for yourselves or order in food for your business. It is a great meal!

Tickets are available at: Kawartha Lakes Food Source Office, Williamson Fuels Ltd., or at the Armoury door.

Food collected by KLFS goes out to all the food banks including the Central Food Cupboard, supported by the SSVP of St. Mary’s

Ssvp Members & Friends: Happy New Year!

Through your generous support we have once again been able to provide a Christmas of hope and joy to many of the poorest of our community.

Over 580 family members including 380 children experienced a more joyful and loving Christmas as a result of your contributions and efforts.

The schools, St. Mary’s, Pope John Paul II, St. Dominic and St. Thomas Aquinas adopted 50 families this Christmas; members of St. Mary’s Parish (and businesses) adopted 80 families; 55 children received toys and clothing through the Angel Program sponsored by members of the parish.

In addition to these efforts, through your monthly contributions 205 Food Hampers were purchased and distributed.

A special thanks to EMS and Fire Protection Services for delivering 146 of these hampers!

Thanks again to all the generous individuals and organizations that responded to a real need in our community.

May the joy and love of our Lord Jesus Christ continue to be with you!

January 14th at 10 a.m. – St. Mary’s SSVP general meeting to take place in the chapel’s St.Joseph’s Room, please bring $12 to pay for the Fire Chief’s Pasta luncheon ticket in support of the Kawartha Food Source.

Jaunuary 25th at 7 p.m. – St. Mary’s SSVP to host Peterborough Particular Council meeting, St. Joseph’s Room.

Helping in our Community
For the Parish Members who where away last week, please note that there are SPONSOR FORMS at the church doors enterances. If you wish to help a needy family just drop the completed form in the collection basket or return the form to the rectory office ASAP. Please return gifts to the church by December the 6th. Thank you for your generosity and support. God Bless!!

Clothing & Shoes Drive

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul wish to thank St. Mary’s Parish for their support in the Clothing & Shoes Drive. It was a great success!

We are now receiving many calls for warm clothing for the children. If anyone has winter snowsuites or other warm clothing ,boots & shoes they wish to donate to SSVP , please call the Parish and SSVP will pick up the clothing left at the Rectory.

There are notices on the bulletin boards of St.Mary’s Church to ask the members of St.Mary’s if they would again sponsor families this Christmas. The forms to be returned to SSVP via the Rectory or collection baskets used at the Masses.

On October 22nd all the members of SSVP are asked to come to the St. Mary’s church’s chapel at 4pm for a photo-shoot.

The next meeting for SSVP will be on November 24th at 1pm in the chapel.

S.S.V.P. would like to thank the members of St. Mary’s Parish for their generous donations of clothing and shoes for the less fortunate. The Bundle Drive will support the S.S.V.P. Store in Peterborough.It was wonderful to see the truck so full. Thank you!

Please check the bulletin boards of the Church for information regarding the Adopt-A-Family Program. The forms will be available soon for those of the Parish who wish to sponsor a needy family.

A reminder that on October 17th volunteers will be going door to door in Lindsay to collect food. Please place your donation of food in a bag placed outside your door by 9 am on Saturday. Anyone wishing to help please come to the CHURCH OF THE LATTER DAY SAINTS by 8:30 am to receive instructions. Thank for your support in feeding the less fortunate of our community. Thank you! The Society of St. Vincent de Paul wish to welcome the following members:
Mary Blanchard, Theresa Boivin, Marg and Bruce Bridger, Elaine Cosgrave, Cathy and Bill Debosky, Brian Hough, Lyn David-Jones, Bea Knowles, Marie McGregor, Elli Meyer and Brian and Bernice O’Neill.

The Installation Ceremony on September 13th for new members was well received at Mass. At the Thank You Luncheon hosted by SVDP for the parish, 25 parish members enjoyed the delicious lunch! The room had several tables full of information about SVDP and their service to the community of Lindsay. The information will be on display again at the next coffee Sunday.
