SSVP Thanks

Thank you to all who supported the SSVP Christmas programs in any way, to brighten the festive season for 150 needy families in our area. 236 adults and 261 children had a happier and more plentiful holiday because of your generosity.

Many members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, other parishioners and friends spent countless hours to shop, organize gifts, pack food, and deliver with the kind help of the thoughtful EMS volunteers. $100 worth of food plus gifts went to the less fortunate people.

May God Bless you for sharing and caring. We certainly appreciate your continuing prayers and bountiful support.

To honor our Patron St. Vincent de Paul, Mass will be at 5:00 p.m. in the church on September 27, followed by a pot luck dinner in St. Mary’s School.
You are welcome to join this celebration even if you are not a member. Bring your family and food.

“Bundle Week-end” October 1-2 there will be a collection of clean, usable adults and children’s shoes/boots and clean rags.

Please mark each bag/box as to its contents.

A SSVP truck from Peterborough will be in the church parking lot Sat Oct 1 from 4:30-6:30pm. and Sun Oct2 from 8:30am.-12:30pm.

St. Vincent dePaul Meeting

St. Vincent de Paul will meet on June 16 in the K of C room, lower level of the rectory.

We will be planning for fall and Christmas activities.

Time 1:30 not 1:00 p.m. as stated on the June calendar.

A special Mass at St. Mary’s Church in celebration of SSVP Feast Day will be held on Sept. 27th at 7 pm. followed by desert and refreshments in the chapel (no meeting).

The Celebrate will be SSVP new spiritual adviser Fr. Theodore Nnorom. All members are encouraged to share this celebration together!

Members please also attend a very important meeting regarding the Christmas Program for this year on Sept.30th, Thursday, at 1:30 in the chapel.

Christmas Gifts

Dear generous members of the Parish who buy gifts for SSVP Christmas program.

Due to the bed bug outbreak in many parts of the province, stuffed toys are not being accepted for gifts by many groups. In August, the problem of bed bugs arose in Lindsay!

To safe guard the health of the clients, SSVP request that no stuffed toys be donated this year. Thank you!
